Hi,

I noticed the saucers rubbing (see pics)

I then noticed some bolts had been damaged and some replaced (not by me)

I suspect the two issues are linked.

Have looked up a parts diagram, it shows the bolt and nut but doesn't give a part number.

Local agco dealer couldnt really help and gave the wrong bolts with the incorrect thread and not enough thread on the length of the bolt.

We've bodged up with some threaded bar for now but would like to get the correct length bolts.

Does anyone have a parts manual that shows the number?

Or an original bolt they could remove to measure ?

Also if anyone can suggest what caused the problem that would be great!

Thanks

It’s a pivot stop. Nothing more than an M12 bolt and lock nut. Looks like the head of the bolt broken off.
Should be as pictured plus bolt head. Roughly 4 threads between bolt head and casting. Then lock nut behind

I have a Stabilo which is a similar machine. The manual says when the wheels of the outer routers are just touching the ground, the inner wheels need to be 60mm from the ground. Then, obviously, when lowered into work each set of wheels bears the correct amount of load. That is what that piece of threaded bar is for.

I had to remove the dishes on mine to remove a couple buckets of hay trapped inside, then adjust the meshing of the gears so the tines do not clash. I also smashed the "elbow" joint on one side by hitting a fence and had to fit a new one. Not difficult with a second tractor with a fore loader (and a scaffolding pole, I think, to do the lifting).

Had the same problem with mine. The stop bolts that keep it level and prevent it drooping too much can snap off.
Usually because we forget to only ever fold and unfold it when the the 2 central wheels are on the ground, so as not to overload the stops.

If the stop brackets have snapped off, use an arc welder with rods that will work with different types of metal.
Not cast rods as your repaired stop will not be cast.

Usually the rods to use will look like a stainless steel finish.

I reversed the bolts so that the bolt heads act as the stop and pack out the exposed bolt thread with washers to add extra strengt.

Brilliant, we did not know to fold up like that. We will make sure to fold up in the way you have said!

Likely be hardcopies on ebay, that's the first place I look for manuals.
My Lotus 460 parts book lists those bolts as M14x60 but I've no idea if the 770 is the same
Your local library will get you a copy on International Library Loan. All you pay is the postage. Or they can sell you a photocopy of the relvant page. That's if public libraries still exist? Don't use it, you'll lose it. A copy of every book published should have been deposited at the National Library by law.
