A nieghbour has some he wants to sell around the £55 mark seems reasonable? .I ve plenty of grass so I m tempted thought I might run them on to shearlings ...are they good to manage or escape artists?

Small is fine - as long as the lamb is correct in all areas and in proportion. They will grow out

You sound happy with them, and if that's all he is getting for others he has sold (and is also happy), I would say crack on 👍

I m not sure he is happy with the price hes getting but people seem reluctant to pay more for stores here ..prob down to shortage of keep

@TexelBen @unlacedgecko it proves how short of grass the area is really, talking to several farms north of 1000ac grassland and their either not taking any tack at all this year or taking half and those have to be off my Christmas this year.

My neighbour told me he’s ploughed his (poor) turnip crops out and drilled Winter Barley, and told his tack man he won’t have any keep for him this year. He won’t be alone in doing that I’m sure.

I’ve gone the other way, drilling extra turnips on ground that was destined for Winter Barley, but I guess that’s the difference between having your own stock that need to be fed, and just forgoing what would be a small tack income.
