Long term machinery reviews?

One of the things that the Resources section could be used for is long term machinery reviews. For any farmer that has had a machine for a season and wants to write up a review. Resources can be updated, so you can add more information is time goes on. Members can discuss the review and rate it.

I think it should be a section for long term owners not just for machinery demos.

What do you think? I think it could be a valuable long term resource for farmers to read when they are choosing machinery. Does anyone fancy starting the ball rolling?

I’m sure @Clive floated this before however it was the problem of impartiality.

Having been treated extremely poorly by some so called premium brands the problem is dealers names, staff names or manufacturers representatives names could end up on the forum. Yes quite frankly some of them should be named and disgraced but people that incompetent are extremely good at covering up their mistakes or passing the blame.

All we as customers can do is spend our money where good service and products combine. Unfortunately it our financial loss when these firms let us down.

Have you had a bit of a fiasco with a certain brand of tractor….?! 😉

It's a good idea, however there will be someone who bought a tractor in 1995 and it hasn’t even had a new link pin and somebody else who bought one 15 months ago and it’s even better than hearing Salma Hayek scream your name. So yea. There is that.

Long term review on this thread.
Warts and all :rolleyes::poop::X3::banghead:

Yes. Like that. But resources let’s your review and the discussion thread sit separately. So someone can just read the review and updates without all the chat.

I’d agree that there are always problems, but most have good experiences and never say anything. All machines break in the end, this is a good way to document a 3 or 10 year ownership which you can update every 6 to 12 months.

This could include overall cost of ownership.
