same here, and more ground nesting broods, even seen h/hogs.

had a serious go year 1, 38, years 2and 3, very very few, as in 1 or 2, now this year, 9 already, not sure why the influx, perhaps an excellent breeding year ?

Is it just me, or are there a lot of hares this year? I'm almost overrun with them, every field I go into seems to have several. Not unusual to see 4 or 5 in one spot, they appear to be going around in groups. Very nice to see though.
Think Packham and his followers need to get know this sort of thing.
Slightly off topic.
Although the estate, that surrounds our cottage, closed down their shoot 4 years ago ,I still haven’t seen any broods of wild pheasant chicks, very disappointing but just goes to show what happens when birds of prey aren’t allowed to be controlled, (n)

Over run with them here which is great.I love seeing them.counted 11 running around on 10 acres of wild bird seed yesterday and seen as many as 18 running together.lots of leverets too.only issue I have with them is mother complaining about them eating her flowers in her garden and they seem to have eaten 90% of the sunflowers in the wbs mixes.

We’ve got a LOT! Can count over 40 on the field at the back of the yard and many more looking across the valley. Thermal spotter makes it easy to see them and get a good idea of numbers. Got one field of spring barley they’ve grazed quite hard and isn’t pretty in parts and it’s not uncommon to see groups of 9+

Been a good year for them here, too.

Saw something I'd never seen before a few weeks ago.
I could hear a crow making a row as it was attacking something on the other side of the valley, which I later saw was a very young leveret.
All of a sudden an adult hare (presumably a female) appeared and eventually chased it off despite it's repeated attempts to carry on.

Seeing a lot of squashed hedgehogs on the roads of the Sainted Isle. No idea why drivers run them over tbh
Daughter was driving early one morning recently on a B road, when she slowed down and stopped, with some other traffic, to let a family of ducks cross the road. Suddenly they were verbally assailed by a man and a girl in a tricked up Beamer, intent on running the ducks over as they said "they couldn't give a F**K about nature, and they were all morons for stopping" Happily daughter let off a few well rounded expletive's in their direction to balance their argument... ;) All ducks crossed safely with some human assistance.

Funny you say this, we’ve got quite a few this year.
I taken few photos and a video and posted it along with other wildlife on the farm and posted them on the village WhatsApp page
Saying we do have wildlife here, just because you don’t see it ,it does not mean it’s not there.

Plenty of hedgehogs here too, caught this one raiding the cats bowl one night. He tried to look all innocent like, it wasn’t me 😂.
