I have a problem or two on my Manitou Manireach MLT 626T.
1/.I cannot Id the model series think it's a one or two.No serial number by seat, any knowledge of how i can I tell?
2/.A small gear has broken on the end of a hydraulic control lever and I need a spare.Anybody know best place for used spares?
3/.Extending boom only extends if I operate the boom down at the same time, any ideas anybody?
4/.Should there be any sort of diff lock on these as I keep getting easily stuck in mud, granted tyres a bit bald but even so with 4wd I would have expected better.

@ACEngineering will be a long but apparently he is very busy on a backlog of starter motors.

Bits in the joystick broken I presume? If it's the cable ends , if it's the bit that goes on the end of the Bowden cable then one from the auxiliary or boom in out lever. Will fit to keep you going .

Serial No Stamped On Chassis - stand at front LHS, look down on chassis rail about 12 mm thick - number stamped in their - delete first number 1 then you have serial no. or post a picture of machine to identify - sounds like series 2 or 3 MLT626- series 2 white cab series 3 grey cab - series 2 Brakes in Wheel Hubs, Series 3 Brakes in Axle - Series One had individual levers although some were converted to joystick

Series 1 the serial plate is right in front of you when you open the cab door just below the handbrake.

Series 2 and 3 is a big plate to the right of the cab seat in the back of the cab.

As said serial number stamped on front right hand corner of chassis just take the 1 off the start of it.
There are other ways i can identify the machine series if needed. series 1 and 2 have carraro axles, boom design is different on a series 1.
series 3 had clark hurth axles.

The joystick control boxes for the series 2 and 3 are obsolete although there are a few parts you can still buy.

Hi I still can't find any plates or numbers but what I do have is chassis number on logbook which is 94523 and a sticker on cab MLT626/03 Ref. 185512, do these help?

I think you are probably right there a series 1, does this help now with the problems I have?

There separate levers so no reason i can think of way the extension wont work unless you use the lift at same time!?

As for getting stuck, these are carraro axles and they do have limited slip diffs in them but there not very good, new tyres will help. Are all wheels driving? wouldn't be the first to have had a issue with axle or hub and people strip the gears out etc and bung it back together to move it on.

Here is photo if it helps if I can do tech bit.

i've possibly got cables in stock but nothing for that control box, fortunately that control box is still available to buy though but it is expensive.

Problems like ripping teeth off is likely cause the cables are old and stiff.

Ok, you've got 4 seperate levers, here's a thought... what about putting a Walvoil 2 way joystick in the dash, and two new bowden cables to the spool block, for the up down and tip function, . All you need to check is that you can get the conversion bits to fit the standard walvoil cables to the spool valve. See photos, shouldnt be an expensive conversion Screenshot_20201205-130051_Samsung Internet.jpgScreenshot_20201205-130051_Samsung Internet.jpgScreenshot_20201205-130218_Samsung Internet.jpg

Tidy it up and sell it on - Series 1 was a crap machine all round - and when it as launched we had so much hope for it only to be very disappointed - series 2 and 3 were substantially better although MLT628T was the final simple machine that encompassed all the learning on MLT626 from 1989 to 1996 before MLT629 series came out.

:ROFLMAO: but so right:X3:(y) Series 1 wasn't great. MLT 628T was the best by far just impossible to find nice ones not as all too old
