Manure application on hay ground

Hey all

Just wondering when the best time to spread manure on hay ground I was hoping to spread it after 2nd cut some time in late august early September. Would this benefit the soil and the grass at this time of year?

August September is an ideal time...any later and you risk it not disappearing before cutting the following year

Is it well rotted and nicely composted or is it strawy stuff dug straight out the shed?

The grass was drilled in September 2019 so it’s well established now and it the oldest stuff is about 2 year and newest will be few months by the time it’s spread

I've got away spreading well composted manure in early spring on ground destined for hay in June. However it's best to spread in August and September, give it a decent covering and it'll be gone by spring

Get the rest of my grass fields done this/next month and normally do first cut second week of July

If it’s well rotted it will be fine if spread now.

Harrow it well in spring.

ive just covered all my silage platform with 12 month old rotted muck and will be silaging around 20th May
