Merlo Multifarmer

Done a forum search and there’s very little discussion on these machines. On paper they look handy to me as were looking for another loader but seeing a few multi farmers on the market used at what looks like decent money I’m wondering if it’s an option. It would be around 10 years old with around 5000 hours on the clock and we’d be looking for it to do around 300 hours a year. Half would be pulling a bale trailer at harvest as we as straw tedding when required. Then some flail topper work and Cambridge rolling. I wouldn’t be doing any heavy draft work with the linkage though. These older ones are 120hp engine versions with 100l/min hyd pumps. Anybody had one a while?

Local man has had two but see now he has changed to normal handler .
Had a lot of trouble with first machine which would be 10 years ago .
He told me once that linkage is odd ( very short arms?) So any PTO stuff means separate shafts and steep angles . He also said that it was not comfortable doing all day jobs with rear linkage and on small diameter wheels means lack of grip , compaction and not great comfort wise .
If it's a bit of rear stuff but mostly handler then ok but if the rear stuff is as much as front , then tractor would be better ,
Off your list , rolling would be the problem job ( grip/ compaction and uncomfortable in a merlo)
Just my opinion though!
