Metcalfe winged points

Started using them last season, very happy with the result in both DD and min til ,great spread of seed leaving an even emergence, still little soil disturbance in DD very no problems going through catch crops.I can’t give numbers on area covered as didn’t take note of it.we did have an issue with the bottom plate wearing very quickly but having discussed this with Mike we hope it’s been sorted by moving the plate up a bit.would say they are not a point for beans but good for everything else, after running the single point a few years these are a fantastic next step.

Went to see Mike the other day and he was saying some of the earlier winged points had a problem with excessive wear on the spread plate and said they had altered the angle of something to cure it.
There is a choice of 175mm, 200mm or 225mm point lengths for the winged coulters, do you know which you use. Looking to use them mainly for spring drilling and thinking the 225mm point might be best.
Do you have the liquid fert tubes, wondering whether to get seed tubes with the liquid fert tube as we have an old mounted sprayer tank but know nothing about liquid fert and the quantities applied

Glad you went to see Mike,We only use the longer point as it keeps wear away from the holder, only use nuts and bolts to fix them as roll pins don’t last.we don’t have liquid fert tubes but I’m sure it’s not a problem.
