Mf dyna 6 speed match

Hello, wondering if anyone can help. Have 2 t3 6480’s one with a perkins engine and 1 with sisu. Both have the autodrive dial. When in either speed match mode on the dial one tractor when changing range from 3f will go to 4b which is perfect, the other goes from 3f to 4a, both gears being very similar means you have the range change delay but dont end up going any faster which doesent make it as smooth. Does anyone know if you can change this? Thank You

you probably should be able to but when we had our 6455 new in 2010 the autodrive never did work properly and in the end the dealer gave up disconnected it and de rated it to just speedmatching effectively. what I’m trying to get at is it may just be a fluke of that tractor, iirc the dealer did mention they had issues with other tractors when ours was being fiddled with

I did wonder myself if it was just one of those things

That shift on the road from 3F to 4a if a 40k gbox isnt as good as you state because 4a is slower than 3f but it all depends on how little or much the load is on the tractor at the time you
change up from 3f to where ever the tractor see's fit it will jump to & all of mine just do what they want, next too no load ie am empty lightish trailer & on a flat road it will change up into
4b & yes its much smoother when it does that. Ive never got away with anything else other than the two modes either side of MAN on the Autodrive controller as both Transport & field modes
where you set it too diff revs is pointless on a fixed geared tractor, the operator can make the change judgement 5 times better anyways.
It could be software like Speedstar says but i had a perkins t3 2008 D6 6480 & the later 2011 Sisu engined one & both D6 gboxes worked 100% the same.
current 2012 one is on 5000hr now & its no diff than when it was new.

Both are 50k as you say depends on load, changing from 3e helps but not always possible. Not really a major issue but just seems less smooth.

oh i didn't realize these are 50k gboxes that changes everything as 4a is higher than 3f so you wont get the issues i was on about then.
it wouldnt bother me if it shifted from 3f to 4a or 4b its far smoother than 3f to 4a on a 40k D6 i can assure you

Probably wouldnt notice if hadnt had the perkins and just thought thats how it was. Out of interest, do you lift of foot throttle when changing range?

As an aside when I first got my 7718 it would go from 3f to 4b it was a pain in the arse if you were on a hill she’d die so constantly having to knock it back to 4a, was a lap top job to sort that
