Thinking of mixing straight actives equal to 2L of crystal and .3L liberator(33g dff, 240g ffc, 600g pdm) making a saving of £8/ha. Anyone seen any different results from using straight actives against pre mix products..?

Never as effective from what I have seen over the years. Nothing scientific to back it up (although i believe there is evidence) but from my observations it just doenst seem to provide the same level of efficacy.

I would agree with this it just doesn’t seem to work as well. BG pre ems are the only chemicals I really darent scrimp on because 5% difference in control can make such a big difference.

I seem to remember that some supply houses premixed single ingredients products as a service for their customers. Does this happen? I expect I am out of date.

The main perk in mixing your own is simply in gaining the "different label" effect whereby you can use a lot of say flufenacet - you can't use two big doses of liberator, but you can use two big doses if one is pincer. Not implying you "should". The saving in mixing your own has been too small to bother with these last two years, certainly for those of us with big herbicide stacks your better off using the proper stuff in the first pass. In my non-qualified opinion.

There is Herold/Firebird 400g FFCT + 200g DFFif you want to boost the DFF content and the FFCT. Liberator is 400g FFCT and 100g DFF.

I just choose the ingredient levels I want which is Liberator + straight DFF as Hurricane or where the weed spectrum dictates PDM, Crystal + higher rates of Hurricane. Straight FFCT as Sunfire isn't as good a formulation as branded Crystal or Liberator.

All these contain FFCT, most with other ingredients too. As usual, different distributors have the same brews from the same manufacturers with different names

Am I right in thinking that crystal is the only product available that contains the old type staining PDM?
Which some say is more effective.........
