Mole ploughing 20mm blue pipe

We've put a lot of 20mm pipe in with a mole plough here on the edge of Dartmoor this summer, we found it best to do one run first without the pipe to make sure there are no rocks in the way or if there are find a way around, we then follow that line with the pipe in place & just before we get to the end of the roll dig a short 18 inch trench in front of the tractor to mole plough into to put in the joint & leave it uncovered until water pressured up.

Last stuff we moled in we used a single leg subsoiler with a steel pipe welded down the back of the leg.
Just feed the pipe in as you go.
This is our version, put in 100 mtrs. last week 20" deep.

Just an update , did my job end of August , worked well but was hard ground .Used the Browns machine with pipe unroller attachment . On 32 mm pipe , the tail of the pipe laying attachment is tight bend so it's quite hard initially to get pipe to pull through . You need to hold on to pipe until machine is probably 6 m away ( either a person , as long as they are strong or use a strap attached to digger/ another machine . On 25mm , pipe runs easier . I dug trench every joiner and obviously junctions.
Just one other point to make and it was a problem I never even thought about. Bought pipe in 150 m lengths ( 32mm and 25mm) , around 27 rolls . The very first roll I tried to put on the unroller , the pipe was wound about 6 inches too small to fit on the machine !! Ended up pulling out about 6 m of pipe from the inside and got it on the reel however that 6m was a complete pain even after re rolling it up as it got caught up and crossed over pipe etc . However , rest of that pallet , all rolls were perfit fit ! In the end over 4 days , had 7 rolls with too small diameters. It looks like that I must of had pipe from 2 different manufactures although it all came through BP Plastics who incidently were very good to deal with . Bought all fittings from them as well , 5 days from order to delivery .
Ps , yes I pre ran mole plough on a run then went back to lay pipe . Around 20-24 inches deep was max depth .
