How's it going for you now? It looks as though you have had to put a lot of concrete down for it! Looks tidy, well done! It's a shame you are so far away! Wouldn't have minded a nose around your set up!!!! Have you had to bund your tank? I recently had a look around a local 800kw that they had to put a soil bund around it! Thinking of doing the same!

It's going well but I still can't run both engines at once because I'm still waiting for electricity northwest to come and lower voltage on my transformer because it's spikes very high when both engines run. Yes we had a bit of ground to level up and a big retaining wall to build but looks good now the walls pebble dashed. No we didn't need to build a bund but I sometimes wonder if we should have one [emoji849]

Just wondering if it is anyway possible for a biolectric to actually achieve 52kw and how many cows do you need to do so! I was very impressed with the concept, but on some of the plants I visited, there was surplus slurry bypassing the digester! Which is why we opted for a larger tank! Is it right that the biggest tank that they use, is only 400m3 which for, say a 300 cow herd with say 30m3/ day only has a 13 day retention! Does anyone know, to any here or abroad managing 46kw+? It would be great if so!

That is good news! I was hearing through the grapevine that they are not performing too well over here! But more inquisitive as to how they can do it, with such a short holding time! Do you know how many cows they have?

No I wish I knew how many cows they had though. The smaller ones perform well in Belgium but don't know what they do differently over there

I don't understand 13 day retetion time? We were told that you have to be more than 28 days to comply with the T24 exemption? Looks like OMNI has it sorted.

Open day has been delayed till 23rd November incase anyone on here was planning on coming. Had issues with crust because stirrer was wired up wrong but all sorted now but will take a while to start producing gas again. An advert for it has gone out in The Farmer Networks newsletter and on Facebook

Just out of interest how long can things like that stop it making gas? How many hours a year would you hope to have engines running? Have you had your rhi and rocs accredited?

Well this issue will stop me for month or so but it shouldn't have happened. It's been wired up wrong in the factory and then not been checked on commissioning I guess. Not got ROC's or RHI yet but I'm just in a que. luckily they backdate the cheque [emoji3]
Not really sure how long to expect engines to run yet but after 2 months of running with 2 foot of crust I was doing bloody well considering. I'm looking forward to seeing what she does with out a crust. Stirrer now working because I can see it going round through the window [emoji2]

We are also waiting on our rocs on a chp unit, will you have to clean the tank out at all or is it just a contunious process?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
