Very much just kicking ideas around while it's raining outside...

Would 100hp handle a New Holland D1000 baler in hay or straw, without pushing too hard on fairly flat land?

What were these balers like, they seem to be a fairly basic, decent enough baler? What was reliability, running costs etc etc like on these?

Any thoughts welcome! :)

I had one for six years, 100Hp is fine, don't put the pressure up too high. There is a small sweet point for the main timing chain, they then run and sound great. Check the main rollers and the steel guides they run on. Good luck.

Perfect baler if your selling hay for horses but most D1000 are worn out now and as above parts are hard to get . Back in their day there were plenty pulled around by JD 3050 / maxum5140 etc . Slow but did the job and we knew no different
Hey there,
I'm curious, Why do you mention its good for selling hay for horses? Is it good for legumes (alfalfa)?
