New machinery poor quality paint

Hi all not sure what other people think to new machinery but in the last couple of years it’s been pretty shitty with problem after problem but mainly paint.
Not going to mention any names but paintwork why does it keep dropping off?
I’ve had new diggers and after a year the paint work literally just drops off the same with the black paint on a well known loader brand.
Ordered a new trailer and the paint all started coming off after a year so got sorted with another trailer and then learnt that the manufacturer doesn’t sand blast before painting I guess to save costs.
Then another trailer brand I had a new trailer off, after 2 months it had to go back and be repainted.
Just wondered what other peoples experience is like with paint.

Paint is definitely poor.
Do some manufacturers not put an undercoat on?
Got a set of Cambridge rollers and the paint is awful. Just flaking off in chunks at the edges

Powder coating and no primer, modern way, absolute sh!t system, almost as bad as water based paints.

I used to hate washing my old tractor as the paint would flake off the wheels everytime and then rust as if there was no primer

Ive a 1978 loading shovel , the paint is better than most ten year old machines

A paint job is only as good as the prep work. Painting over mill scale, greasy fingerprints, sharp corners etc is just asking for the paint to come off.

Sharp corners is the biggest issue. Most steel is laser profiled and the corners are like razors. These all need rounding off prior to powder coating

That’s because the paint hasn’t cured properly. Paint needs a good few days/weeks belt I’m safely take stickers. Not a luxury most manufacturers have

Went to an Amazone demo thingy years ago,,,,,,,,,,,,,Look at how we now make a lot better job of the painting, Ha Ha Ha, the newer the machine the worse the paint is on the places that matter.
