Quick way to see if you have worms in the lawn/grass area , make a strong mustard water mix and pour on a square of ground. Wait a few minutes pick up worms, count and throw in a bucket of clean water and release.

That's how I started my falconry career. The mustard brought the worms up for my buzzard (the first raptor I possessed) to catch. Not much of a flight but it amused a 10 year old!
