Just wondering if any fellow west Walian producers on here have any thoughts on the new set up ?
Certainly looks impressive & they seem confident in their plans , what does anyone else think ?
thanks.

They've built it in the wrong place.
All long distance distribution will have to be done in polybottles, been better to site it near population then milk could go in bulk to the dairy and then a short hop to store.
Arla have a liquid dairy in Aylesbury, for that very reason.

We've had them out to see what they were offering - they wanted cows to be grazed but are paying only on litres and butterfat, nothing on protein. I don't know how many suppliers they've actually signed up, last I heard they only had one!

More competition for our milk is only going to be a good thing, will keep other buyers on their toes.

I question whether their usp of "Welsh milk bottled in Wales" is going to command a premium, we Welsh aren't exactly a highly affluent society.
Yes & knowing previous attempts by others haven’t ended well. Also Lidl appear to be first to be stocking , are they really up for a premium?

& if the spuds are anything to go by , it’ll be shipped over the bridge to the distribution centres & then back over into the stores

I couldn’t get an answer as to how many have signed , bearing in mind most of us have to give 12 months notice before we start elsewhere.
Arla to be used as a balancer
