It's not about where he has come from, it's his presumptions that he is automatically superior to the rest of us by right of his father paying for a superior education. This generally has to be earned though deeds and actions of which we have seen very little to date. As to his intelligence, again there is little to support this, and the fact that his much heralded book, on his favourite period of history "The Victorians" has been universally ridiculed on both sides of the Atlantic, does nothing to change this. for example:

“The Victorians consists of a dozen clumsily written pompous schoolboy compositions about 19th-century characters … At this point in the book you start to think that the author is worse than a twit. A.N. Wilson The Times.

It would seem you have never met him then. I have, as have many people in this area, he is often walking about in Keynsham, and a more polite gentleman would be hard to find.
