I've just taken delivery of a new N-Guard. On the whole, I like it but the suspension seems very firm, you tend to feel every imperfection on the road, are they all like this, and will it "bed in" come time?

Have you tried lowering the tyre pressure to comfort settings?

Would have said comfort was one of their selling points, especially for rear seat passengers. Kids definitely prefer mine to what we had before.

Fit air suspension on the rear also improves towing as you can vary the pressure . All the Opico boys fit it from new.

I’ve had a Tekna auto for 2 years the ride is much choppier on the rear end than the dmax I had previously. Fitting a canopy helped as did lowering the tyre pressures slightly. Best thing is leave some weight in the back.

If you get the updated Tekna you get a much better pickup BUT, the spring rates are heavier and is even more choppy on minor roads.

I put air suspension on mine ,it’s air bag fits inside the coil spring . It’s also allowed us to carry more weight now , I’ve got it registered as an upgrade ,from dvla The carrying capacity was 1047kg’s ? But Now it can carry 1500 kg’s .

It's on 18" tyres, I reduced the pressure a bit but made no difference. It has a canopy fitted, I might put some weight in the bed to see if it makes any difference, it certainly was better towing a trailer with some weight in it.

What's the cost of the air bag conversion?

Going to be nosey: what did the conversion and replating/certification cost In all?

Had all the paperwork for the uprating done by sutech tel 01772 621800 . cost £350 + vat .Nearly 3years ago Had it done.

Quite a few companies do it .I’ve got a manual one ,to air Valves on side of the Towbar, I carry a little air compressor with me so I can up / down The pressure when I require it.

I don’t know !been in nearly 3 years ,goes in for its service nothing has been said ,if something did go wrong I just take it out , But if something did go wrong with the warrantee Nissan would wiggle out of it anyway !
