Nutrient management plan fail.

I have just had a Farm assurance inspection and didnt have the recquired NM plan is there a template on line I can use? RB 209 didnt seem much use.

Did you ask the inspector what a nutrient management plan has to do with food safety which was the basis on which the farm assurance protection racket was set up after the introduction of the Food Safety Act 1990?

Google "Manure Management Plan template" then take your pick.

Plenty of basic ones to choose from eg Tried & Tested or even RT own thing

We had a fail because we didn't have a Johnes plan , despite blood testing all the cows . turns out you just need the plan , you don't need to do anything with it

That’s the whole point isn’t it of exactly why the whole thing’s a complete joke. It’s not the testing that’s important, it‘s the plan. What a time to be alive.

Download template after template. Fill them in. Put them in a folder. Get them out on inspection day. Put them away until next year. What a farce.

What should have happened is we should have all bought bigger tractors and instead of expanding our acreage we should have had more time off. That’s actually the economic model we work to on this farm. Bigger faster machinery : more time off. Don’t create non jobs just to keep folk busy annoying other people. Tech was supposed to mean we should all be on a 3 day week by now, not printing off templates.

It's a lot more relaxing not having to worry about almost that nonsense anymore, you should all try it .but we can't sell our produce they all say , if you all leave it won't matter its not rocket science

We ask our agronomist to do our NMP, I don't even look at it, it is just another pointless piece of supposedly information that is totally ignored anyway. Why have we allowed assurance schemes to insist that we have and do things that our end users have no knowledge of and are not in the slightest bit interested in them at the end of the day.
All our customers are looking for is the right product at the cheapest price they can get away with paying for it.
And we are the same with our inputs and raw materials.

I made use of this option back in March. My old nutrient management plan must have been at least 10 years old. I now have something up to date to,push at the Red tractor inspector!
