You have a point their.but you can't always re use bolts if they have sheared off.think next time I do a complete knife I'll price up both and see the difference

So, what’s the collective TFF view on this one.
Already had a brief exchange of views, but don’t want to upset a partnership, but as the combine driver and co owner I think I should have final say.
So here we go

This is my preferred way of using the nut n bolt way of securing knife sections.

Arrived at the combine yesterday to be greeted by this.

Wasn’t impressed as I’d left instructions on how I’d wanted it done.

So before I show my frustration Monday, who’s right ?
Is that a class knife on an mf combine?

My 7278 has a Schumacher knife.
Same as JD, probably others, but the drive end is different.
As an aside I've loads of the older Massey knife sections.
A drink would secure them.

Thanks , broke our knife last year so was looking at getting a complete new one and carrying a spare one , dealers are taking the nick wanting nearly 500 for a new one so looking around to see if a class one would fit as cheeped believe it or not

As above, spent a lot of time putting new sections on the knife always used rivets if the entire knife was being done, but for an in field repair nuts and bolts were easier and quicker- plus I have little fingers which makes the job a doddle.

Little press device on a board will remove old sections from a knife by shearing them off. Worked a treat.

White coats are banned. o_O

I will throw myself into a new line of work basically. Ever since before college I was into farming 24/7. It was all I read about or talked about, I didn't really have much besides it in life. I have only ever had a very limited number of friends, too. Once I am accepted onto the course I won't leave it alone.

Chemicals= drugs in my own mind. I spent years learning all the guff, actives, rates, names, what you can and can't do. At uni I nearly memorised most of the green book. Learning something new will be just the same.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
