I know what I’d rather eat out of the two options that are produced in this picture and I bet it has a lower carbon footprint and has less risk to my health…

Is that how they make that crap Quorn stuff :scratchhead:

A bit like they do with Nitram :scratchhead: ....

.....drop sh!t from the top of a prilling tower, so that it forms into a chicken nugget by the time it gets to the bottom :scratchhead:

The towers are used to bubble gas up through a temperature controlled broth of chemicals and nutrients to produce Fusarium Venenatum fungal threads, similar to the original version designed by ICI to produce high protein livestock feed at their Billingham works, before the division was ‘spun off’ as the Quorn brand.

It’s quite a trick to convince the public to buy pig feed to serve to their kids, while the Monde Nissin corporation pocket huge profits in the guise of ‘veganism saving the planet’.

Picture below is the original ICI ‘Pruteen’ facility (1984) not far from the Nitram 'shot towers' on the same site.

Quorn will have to carry prominent labels in the US identifying it as a ‘mold’ with a risk of causing allergic reactions. … However, the product has been at the center of a long-running controversy in the US where the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) has tried and failed to get it banned.

Secondly, Why is Quorn mince not vegan? The Vegan Quorn Range

Though all Quorn products are vegetarian, the below options don’t contain egg white, which is used as a binding agent in the brand’s non-vegan options. Instead, the company uses potato starch, often combined with pea protein or tapioca starch.

Is it bad to eat Quorn everyday? Quorn makes vegetarian meat substitutes out of mycoprotein, a fermented fungus found in soil. While mycoprotein appears to be safe for consumption, there have been several reports of allergic and gastrointestinal symptoms after eating Quorn products ( 24 ).
