Got an issue with the dryer I need some guidance on please.
Dryer starts, heats up ok, but doesn’t come back in once grain temperature is reached as it trips the high limit stat.
Should it go to a low flame then come back in when the temperature drops 🤔

Is this a DCM Control box, or manual with the two guages?

So the flame is constant. Not high and low.
Sounds like you need to increase the Plenum Temp setting to be above your grain target temperature
Yes, just seems to be a high flame 🔥

Books a bit confusing, one paragraph says set plenum 50* above desired plenum temperature then later on says don’t exceed plenum temperature in chart 🤷🏻‍♂️

We bought an Opico dryer last year off a neighbour, think it is a 555
I haven’t actually used it yet because it was dry last year and we feed all our cereals, but when I got somebody to come and do a couple of jobs on it and check it over last year it gets up to temperature and turns off but it doesn’t come back on to maintain temperature and he said it is the grey box on the left-hand side in your control panel picture needs replacing
Not sure if this is the same problem your having

@yellrom is right, Josh will know.

is this setting 50* higher than your plenum temp on the dial?
Book says max 180 plenum for wheat but ran it at 225 to get it to get the grain temp to 100 without the high temp tripping.
Will see how it goes tomorrow, but need to dry down from 18% so not confident just getting it grain temp to 120 and then cooling as high limit has tripped will be enough 🤔

Actual Plenum temperature is adjusted with the regulator valve. The grey switch box plenum temperature is a safety feature should the regulator valve fail and is set 50deg above your desired plenum temp. The plenum temps in the book are the maximum recommended to avoid damage to the grains, mostly applicable to seed. The gas should switch off completely when grain temp is reached. You set the grain temp on your first load based on the desired moisture, after that it should be automatic unless you adjust the plenum temp again. A lower plenum temp actually needs a lower grain temp for the same moisture as it is cooking for longer to get to that temp.

Trying to get the grain temp to 120*F this morning but plenum is tripping at 250*F so upped it to 275*F 😬
How do you set plenum temperature via the regulator 🤔

Fans at 520rpm, will have a play with the modulating valve 👍

1st load I’ve over dried, it’s a bit different to doing it in winter.
I have a lot to learn 😬
