New Holland Agriculture has announced a new addition to the T6 tractor range with a new 6-cylinder model, the T6.160 Dynamic Command.

According to the agricultural machinery giant, this new tractor “combines the high performance of the proven NEF 6-cylinder engine with New Holland’s dual clutch and CVT technology”.

This comes in a compact package with the tractor having a 2.6m wheelbase and 10.5t gross vehicle weight.

The T6 range now has two six-cylinder models with Dynamic Command: the existing 145hp T6.180 and the new 135-hp T6.160 – this is the only compact 6-cylinder tractor on the market with rated power below 140hp, New Holland claims.

The T6.160 Dynamic Command will be available in the second half of 2021, the manufacturer says.

In terms of details, the T6.160 Dynamic Command features: a NEF 6-cylinder 6.7L engine that generates 135 rated horsepower.; 24×24 Dynamic Command transmission developed inhouse by New Holland.

The machinery giant claims that the eight-step push-button gear changes and three push-button robotized range changes “ensures that the best gear for the application is always engaged”.

Meanwhile, there’s a fully automated gearbox which “always sets the ideal ratio and reduce the need for operator input. The result is high productivity with low operator fatigue, New Holland claims.

The NEF engine meets Stage V emissions standards with the high-efficiency SCR-only maintenance-free after-treatment system. Combined with the Dynamic Command transmission, the engine apparently manages fuel savings of up to 9%.

On another note, New Holland points to the tractor’s automated functions to deliver “consistently high productivity”.

These include the Ground Speed Management II (GSM II) control package, which automatically maintains the target speed set by the operator while reducing fuel consumption, and the Smart Range Shift that ensures the correct gear is engaged when making a range shift.

The T6.160 Dynamic Command also features New Holland’s SideWinder II armrest with fully integrated IntelliView IV ultra-wide colour touchscreen and CommandGrip multifunction handle.

On a telematics front, New Holland says the farmer “is always connected to their tractor” through MyPLM Connect, which uses a tablet-based user interface to send and receive real-time information.

The platform is embedded in the MYNH portal, where farmers “can register their units, receive information and product materials, and request assistance if needed” the firm says.
