Prince Andrew

Hero of the left? I read his book and whilst he was in his early twenties there really wasnā€™t anything dodgy other than they werenā€™t suited and should never have married. When I worked in the States especially in the South I met plenty of teenagers married with a couple of kids it was just how it was or is. As for Prince Andrew he was set up probably by Epstein and Maxwell but now the batons been passed to Guilfre. Maxwell and Epstein just needed the connections and influence as they had money the woman wants cash. Obviously he probably should have just come out and said ā€˜I slept with her so what how was I to know she was being moved around against her will? ā€˜
But no one ever questions people like him they think they can do want they want because most of the time people let them. Perhaps if his parents had brought him up better this wouldnā€™t have happened.
If I had a 15 year old daughter, I would not be happy if she married a man in his early 20's.

Given that Her Majesty has taken Andrews titles back, and that he is now just a "civiliian", I suspect the Palace knows whats coming in the Ghislaine Maxwell trial's forthcoming naming and shaming session. Im curious as to whom the other seven names of the eight might be?

Once again we are reminded that The Queen is in a league of One when it comes to conduct and integrity in the world's corridor's of power. Throwing a formerly favourite son under the bus in the name of duty must have been an incredibly difficult task to do. I for one, and Im sure many other British people, hold her in the highest regard, lets pray she's with us for a good few more years yet.
Or, is it more about protecting the brand?
The Firm are very adept at swivelling in response to public opprobrium.

Romeo and Juliet were both younger than Andrew's accuser. I think Juliet was 13.

Andrew has not been accused of anything that is illegal in this Country.

Interestingly, back in the Georgian era in Britain, girls were allowed to have sex from the age of 10 and marry by 12

This still holds true in certain countries today

Buggery was illegal though

Illegal to wear penis shaped shoes in France at that time too, apparently.

Not these days ā€¦

I've been listening to an interesting podcast that pools circumstantial evidence suggesting Epstein was working for foreign intelligence and was using the abuse of young girls as a means to collect blackmail ammunition on the wealthy and powerful. It's certainly not a stretch as there are examples of such things in recent history.

Thank you for that
There is a strong undercurrent of opinion here that ā€˜theyā€™ were asking for it etc. A very different tone when itā€™s a matter of Bradford grooming gangs.
But then thatā€™s a different ethnic background and tax bracket.
Also, quite a lack of understanding throughout about how grooming works.

Is the issue more to do with the trafficking in which case the law where the offence took place is irrelevant, it is the law of the state from which they were trafficked which is in point.
No. Both the US and UK have law which make it clear that one can not be found guilty of a crime in a foreign jurisdiction if the occurrence is not an offence within the jurisdiction of oversight. In such cases if comes down to extradition, and there are any number of precedents that point both ways on whether that will succeed.
