Problems with BCMS?

I returned two passports for alteration to BCMS on April 2nd and am still awaiting their return. They were both returned for incorrrect breed and both verified by the original breeder, just sold wrongly at market and not announced by the auctioneer.
I have spoken with BCMS several times but still no passports returned. They were ammended on my CTS on April 12th and sent for printing. Apparently there were printing problems but I was assured that they had been sent on or around 22nd April. Still nothing. Several calls, an email and loads more excuses and rules of re applying from them.
The one Limm heifer ran out of TB test and has had to be pre movement tested and I am hanging on to the rest in the shed as I cannot keep one heifer behind on her own.
To date still no passports and contradicting dates given by BCMS as to when I can apply for a re issue as they are now presumably lost in the post? This will take another 14 working days so we are going to be looking at just shy of 8 weeks to alter two passports. Is this reasonable ?
I will never send a passport back for ammendment again, just sell them on the wrong details as most people seem to!

You're not the only one with problems. There's a post on face book on some page and there seems to be a lot of people in the same boat without passports, all ordered on the same weekend, and all running out of tb test exemption on new born calves. Bcms saying they're sorting it but nothings happened so far.

Still waiting for some new passports here.............. apparently there was a print issue on 13th April and passports have been delayed !!

Normally BCMS is very good with everything and sorting out problems without a fuss. They must be the only government organisation that realise mistakes are made and it's not because farmers are trying to con them.

We applied on April 12 for new calf passports, was promised they had been sent on 22nd April, still nothing, then promised they were sent first class on Tuesday 7th May, now had an email that says posting today (9th May) and will be delivered from Saturday (11th) onwards. A FULL month waiting for passports, calves would normally have been moved off our holding to a buyer at 10 days of age. Outgrown pens and increase cost of rearing. Personally we will be sending a bill to BCMS for this. We probably won’t see a penny from them but it may make them realise. No apology from them so far!

Yes, aware of the issue however 1 month down the line with still no passports doesn’t seem good enough, considering they said they had been posted on the 22nd April 🤔
Oh right , I just happened to notice it as was going to phone them up , lucky for us we registered 6 just a few days before the fukup else would have been in same situation....

I returned one for change of breed around the same time as you.
Angus bought with Hereford passport.
Slip through my net on arrival and only noticed when I dug them out to be sold privately as stirks.
Swapped the animal out and sent off pp.
Chased it a couple of times - told that it was in post, then told that it was in fact being processed previously.
Anyhoo the last 25 of that batch due to go today and still don't have pp, so customer only had 24.
Not happy.

Thought i was doing the right thing in sorting the breed instead of passing it down the line to customers.

Next time i won't bother

Why would you be bothered about what breed it says on the passport?
Very good question, in future I will not worry at all. Just trying to do the right thing.
As a matter of interest one was bought as an Angus with a named sire, turns out to be a Limousin! Auctioneer wasn't bothered when I quizzed him. You will have to get the passport changed he said. The other was abloody good Limm heifer on a Holstein Friesian passport again described wrong when sold. That is why I got them altered but never again.

when u ring up it now says 15th may after for postage so they isn’t even be sent , it said 8th last week and before that 22nd so they obviously not even been sent , due to a technical error it says , a lot of these animals are going to be over 42 days soon. I hope it doesn’t lead to more mither dna testing etc
