Reccomendation For Immobilisers & Trackers to fit to Tractors and Telescopics

Had a phone call this morning from farmer client on Leics/ Notts border. 3 Manitous stolen in that area over last few weeks. Any recommendations on best type of immobiliser and tracking system to fit. My inclination is that we need an immobiliser to stop machine going in first place, but then if it does disappear a Tracker to help recover it.
My past experience is that I tend to prefer dealer fit systems because if after- market fitted and there is an electrical problem with machine the Main Dealer then sometimes blames it on the immobiliser/tracker.
Quite impressed with JCB Live Link which a number of clients seem to get on well with on both Loadalls & Fastracs. Want system that can be fitted to any make/model of tractor/telehandler.
Insurers will generally give a premium discount of 10% or so for fitting, so on a £30 000 machine costing £250 for comp insurance, £25 discount. Main reason for fitting in my view is to avoid the hassle factor of having to buy replacement machine/down time and potential cost because you end up buying newer machine than stolen one.

What have peoples experiences been with these systems and what would you recommend?<

My digger is imobile while not in use. The two front wheels are locked away in another building, and the nuts elsewhere.
Quite an easy deterent when the machine can raise its own front, and you have a battery operated socket gun.
Only took about 5 minutes extra to park it.

Must be nice to be so financially stable to think about the things you’ve worked for in such a manner.
Probably would think the same though if my insurance company could replace it the very same day that I discover it’s gone, just as I need it.

You can never buy a replacement of equivalent quality for the price the insurers will give you. There is always the dealers 25% mark up, and the fact that it may have undiscovered faults to contend with.

76Masseyman has your premium gone down? I could not be arsed taking wheels of a machine and hiding nuts in another location. Life is for living and enjoyment and no piece of steel is going to distract me but hey we all make choices! Good luck in keeping the thieves away from it?

Correct, life is for living, and the few pieces of kit I own have helped me achieve the the life I live.
Front bucket down, nuts buzzed off, wheels rolled next door, nuts in tool shed with gun, job done. Ok, I don’t do this every evening, only when it’s going to be stood a while.
And no, my premium hasn’t gone down, sadly probably due to machines being taken that were easy targets.

I understand you 76Masseyman. The digger is the one thing I woukd worry about been nicked especially if it’s used in the commission of a crime....like ripping an ATM out of the wall of a bank. I wonder how insurance works in that situation?

How many manufacturers actually offer a coded key. Surely it’s not too much to ask in this day and age. Can you imagine if every car key was the same ?
They all do now dont they? Our loaders have and all tractors. Think the combine is the only thing that doesnt. A large veg grower got fed up with the coded key being lost or in drivers pockets when needed so they agri taped the key to the underside of the dash then used the old generic keys ?‍♂️ Not sure how that would stack up with the insurance company
