Let's not devalue the argument with pointless insults. There's plenty to be outraged about without getting personal, if you want to be taken seriously.

You're quite right of course.

Unfortunately I have to be RT assured as part of my dairy contract so I need to know my enemy whether I agree with the scheme or not.

Anyway, I have no idea why people are surprised that people like this get to chair quangos. If you really want to be outraged, I suggest to look at who chairs NT and his role in the Post Office Horizon scandal.

And as for this Government....

Folk do have the right to vote without prejudice, but voting to the opposite of what your job is. Well that's a bit of a head scratcher.
Abstaining quoting conflict of interest would of been the move someone with some semblance of thought for their clients would have done I guess.

Link to the complaints form:

Doubt many will bother though.

Edit: Deleted link as I couldn't get it to copy/paste. Easily findable with a search though.

Who chooses these people to be on things like this?
Red tractor is absolutely fudgeing farcical. I wonder if that sponger Jim Mosley will write into the farmers weekly again next week stating how good a value RT is.
we need to boycott this gravy train.

they choose each other ! and in a nutshell that is the problem with UK Ag right now

I tried to get involved possibly naively thinking I could make some change but no chance anyone is going to let someone like me anywhere near the tufty clubs that “represent” farmers !

2 differing points from me,
firstly it's disgusting, and perhaps we should play the 'discrimination' card !
secondly, having been the victim of a 'vegan' attack, very grateful, of their total support, and i mean total.

So the predictable reaction to the headline is rage. But, in the absence of her rationale for voting how she did. Consider this, why would she vote to support a Bill that would destroy the point of RT? She didn’t vote to amend RT standards, she voted to ensure a point of difference. Having said that, I’ve no idea why she voted against the Labour amendment that deals with food standards and not production standards.

She did reply in the article linked.
Do folk actually rage without understanding why😅

How much more evidence do you people need that RT is run entirely for the benefit of the supermarkets and the processors, and not the producers?

The power is in your hands, just leave. If you all stop paying them they disappear. If you stay you're effectively saying you like being shat on from a great height.
stopped 2 years ago, seemed pointless then but i hear its worse now,

as you say if everone stops there fooked

NFU POSITION STATEMENT

ISSUE: AFS Chair votes against Agriculture Bill standards amendments

NFU Director General Terry Jones said: “The Curry amendment does not tie the hands of our negotiators, but it does improve parliamentary scrutiny of the deals worked out between the UK and other countries.
“Accordingly, we are obviously disappointed that Baroness Neville-Rolfe seems to have misunderstood the amendment which seems entirely consistent with her previous public statements on trade and standards. Crucially the campaign to protect our high standards of production has the backing of one million consumers and securing a long-term solution to this issue remains the NFU’s number one priority.”

...then get a peerage, become a Board member of a large supermarket and then head of an assurance scheme.
There is no such thing as a failed CEO in these circles, just a resignation with a huge financial package and another job lined up.
Plenty examples - start with Dido Harding at Talk Talk and now at Test and Trace

You couldn’t make it up 😡 The Chair of Red Tractor has sold out all members. Whilst she is happy to take farmers hard earned money whilst tying them in ever tighter knots she is happy to vote against food imports having to meet the standards of the organisation she presided over in the UK. Surely her position is untenable and she should either fall on her sword or be booted out.

She was a director of Tesco.
she probably has shares in them!

And the woman who was head of the PO while they were prosecuting all those poor Postmasters and Postmistresses, who lied through her teeth about the PO computer system's infallibility is now head of a large NHS Trust in London. It doesn't matter how much of a complete pile of :poop: they leave behind in one job, they always get another lucrative job somewhere else. Its a merry-go-round where they all look after each other.

"Lessons will be learned " is the favourite line!

Must try that with RT 👍

I think you’ll find they make a career out of it, the worse they are the more glowing references they get, saves having to go through the expense of having to fire them.
