Just knock a few quid off the pitch fee on the condition they pick the stones where they pitch the tent

Hire a ride on vibrating roller from local
plant hire company.
If a large field you may need to hire two and pay someone to operate one .
Years ago,the above is what I used to make my airstrip smooth on Cotswold brash. You will have to go over the field a couple of times to make a really good job. You will need patience
