Restoring Tractors

Those of you that have or are restoring tractors, what do you do when you have finished it?

I get the impression that finishing it can be a bit of an anticlimax

I’ve done several, enjoy the process more tbh, I’ve always sold it on then traded up, just finished a Ford 8340, enjoy driving it so will keep it and do a bit of modernising it.

Would only do it with the intention of keeping and using the tractor but have done several cars.
The cars were done with the intention of keeping and using them which I did but were sold eventually. Luckily they were Mk1 Escorts that had become very fashionable and expensive so they were financially worthwhile but not sure a tractor would be. Might be, depends which tractor if that is why you are going to do it.
I have an IH 674 which I would like to do a proper resto on but suspect it will be to a lower standard than a full on restoration. Watertight rather than shiny kind of thing (cab and engine 🤣 )

Whats the average annual upkeep on that with doing 200 acres
Its difficult to say some years if it needs knifes or a sheer bar it is expensive ,this year feed roll bump stops a belt and pick up reel cam rollers + a sharpening stone. It the flexibility to go when I want that justifies its existence.

Customer of ours sent his claas harvester for a dealer service/checkup and first day out she ate herself and hadnt lifted a stone or anything. Dealer wouldnt stand any of it and it ended in a 80k insurance bill and shes needed a new accelerator each year since. Same thing happened with 3 other harvesters the dealer had gone through within couple of weeks out
