Royaltys

Do I have to pay royalty on farm saved seed after a failed crop of bought in seed .
If it was bought in "new" seed the royalty would be included in the delivered price, is it this bit you are inquiring as to claiming back? Because you cannot buy seed in only feed from farm to farm so no royalty.

Yep the seed was "new" but the seed I sew in March was home produced. I feel I have already paid it once and don't want to pay the tax again to the extremely good value for money Bspd.

Yep totally agree but you won't change their mind, I tried, I asked them for a refund on undrilled WB seed that's sat in the shed that I had paid the royalty on or at least do a contra against FS, w beans ,was told to speak to my seed cleaner for a refund but pay the BSP for the bean royalty.

Should OSR royalties be far lower than they are? The crop is a gamble I think the seed houses should take some of the risk.

There are a few varieties available where the cost of certified seed is reduced if you get a crop failure by a certain date, schemes vary but worth asking your seed supplier. Also some herbicide schemes along similar lines.
