Anyone tried the rumenco maxx licks? Local supplier is offering these instead of crystalyx , claiming to be identical( ????) £3.50 cheaper per block for 22.5 kg size. Thanks
Thought they might not be identical! Haven't found old crystalyx tub to compare ingredients etc but agree cheaper not always better! From what I hear they are not as good, same in principle but not as hard so they go through them faster, cheaper is not always better.
The maxx buckets are molasses basedAren't rumenco cereal based and crystalix molasses based?
Sorry only just noticed replys alerts have gone haywire on phone!! Yes supalyx is totally different to the"maxx" block was just wondering if people thought this was good replacement for crystalyx or not? Ingredients seem much the same but haven't actually seen a block yet to see how hard they are, was looking for 80 kg tubs but supplier was sold out, said if feedback is ok from first few customers then once 19 pallets of crystalyx gone out yard only taking this in. Thanks for repliesAs far as I can tell the maxx bucket is rumenco's answer to crystalyx. They told me at SW sheep "to watch this space......"
I think folk are getting mixed up comparing superlyx to Crystalyx- very different things, the superlyx is much softer and meant to be higher in take.
Should be comparing maxx to crystal and leave superlyx out of it.
Also we used to use a fair bit of superlyx but found rumencos rumivite block much better value for money, weight for weigh, and not so soft.
hopefully rumenco will put the maxx in 100kg bucket like the superlyx, if you've got to use the tractor etc to move 80kg, just as well move 100kg and the empty buckets are more useful!
Have you been cutting back on the cakes? I can lift an 80kg block into the back of the truck, but 100kg beats me enough that I don't try.
Perhaps putting them all in 100kg tubs is the safest option though.
