Do people not incorporate it in seedbed, mine had 2cwt/ac Double Top stirred in?
Did same last year with Urea, on basis that in a dry spring it may be only fert actually accessible until mid May.

i put 100kg/N on in the seedbed in march before drilling, put the remained 30Kg/N on yesterday before the rain. technically that was a bit late, but no rain since emergence, so no really downside

Like the idea. Don't like the wheelings. Do all mine at trams visible but we would be early drillers here, like to crack on in Feb if poss.

Agree re wheelings, but already been over with Glyphosate, and was lifting with Kongskilde to let some air in anyway. Ploughed early for winter crop, and set like concrete :banghead: .

Have come to the conclusion that with a notill and cover crop situation
aply some urea as early as it is possible to travel
spray off the cover end of feb onwards
aply next 1/3 when it is dry enough to start drilling mid March
then the final third at drilling or a bit later if drilling is early
if the cover destruction is delayed then it hold the n that may be available
fitting this into the rules
after barley early planted crop takes up n from the cover crop
or early planted cover and spring break crop followed by early planted wheat
double spring crop lows early planted wheat
late planted autumn crop not an option as any crop planted after 10 October is worse than a spring crop on average
producing lower margin and more weeds than run of late planted crops
