What inputs has it had to date? Planning to silage or combine?
Grain, Contract with United oilseeds. I'll dig the inputs out in morning when in office. It suits our dry sandy land extremely well.
This is a 2nd cereal after wheat it was ploughed and rolled pre drilling then rolled afterwards it likes a good seedbed.

Currently grow triticale which overall I really like but the extra straw from rye does appeal. Having to buy new seed every year doesn’t though! Is more sensitive to the wet and pre ems than wheat.

We grew Triticale for our own pigs a long time ago but i was never really that impressed with it. I Much prefer the Rye although like you say it doesn't like any overlaps etc with pre em spray very sensitive!
