Yep 2 feet of hard core and mot type 1 compressed with a 25 tonne excavator. 6 inches of c35 with fibres it's plenty strong for a small 15m shed

How are you going to set the bolts if the slab is already poured?
If you are confident the slab will hold it why not use thunderbolts and just bolt it to the slab.
(I am no expert on the matter, by shed of a similar size has got m3 of concrete under each leg and slab poured on top.

Theres a difference between saying that and actually putting your neck on the line as a business.

If the shed blew over in the wind and killed someone reassurance that wouldn’t stand for much. The legal costs and negative publicity would finish the business too, not to mention how the shed erectors would feel knowing they might have avoided it happening.

I’ve a 200’ X 115’ shed held down with resin bolts but it’s on large concrete pads, have x2 sheds 40’ wide and a 30’ wide on resin bolts also, last shed I put up is on bolts and cones 260’ X 120’,I prefer the cones.

Cheers for the replies. It's an agricultural spec. The slab has already been poured it was 20m by 10m. And is the stronger c35 mix. If anyone knows a groundworker who can help with 20 or so bolts that would be handy. They send all the consumables, resin studs and templates etc. Just south of Oxford. Cheers
I was like you, wanted to put a shed on an existing slab.the bigger companies I got quotes from all wanted a test doing for the bolts.i said they didn't need to as it was fairly thick.anyway found a local lad.who is A1.came looked at the site.said if it's as thick as you say be no problem.
After he'd drilled the holes.he said you were right about slab thickness.

As you are doing resin studs in a slab you will need to be spot on with the bolts, there will be no movement when erecting the frame, which you get with cast in bolts and cones. You will need someone with a total station who can plot the bolts from the shed builders CAD drawings. If they are out you will be hit with extra costs from the erectors for time wasted cutting/gassing the baseplates.

Pullout test is pretty standard in this sort of installation, quite simple, put an anchor in then the tester tries to putt it out with his rig to see what capacity the slab holds. The foundation/slab isnt there to stop the shed from sinking it is there to hold the shed down in wind

No reputable erector/firm will stand the columns up and then thunderbolt them in place. No movement, no tolerance and not safe.

It is how mine was done but I don't claim to be reputable as far as that goes.
Why do you say no movement or tolerance and why is it unsafe?
Did you think I meant all columns in place before fastening anything to them? I didn't think it was unsafe while doing it but if there's a reason I am interested to learn.

When ever we have put up a building we haven't paid for anything until the shed is complete.

I can recommend Barratts from Uttoxeter. Out of 4 buildings they did two, they are the only company I could recommend. Haven't used them for the last one as the timescales were over a year to get on site to start. I wont mention the last shed builder we used in 2021. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: .

Got 3 sheds off Wearings, all manufactured and delivered to site then invoiced,

might not be the very cheapest but the timber is excellent quality and all fixing and i find them excellent to deal with.

Get local shed builder to do footings and i erect steel and timber he does roofs.

Good sheds but they have been seriously dearer than the rest when I've had quotes. Maybe I'm blacklisted or something?
