Sheep/cattle feed barriers

Has anyone got any examples of feed barriers that can be used for both sheep and cattle. Altering a cattle shed with a central feed passage but will be used for sheep come end February/March. There’s a few off the shelf ones but the timber bases look a bit flimsy I thought. The ewes are all big Suffolk x

I wouldn’t have a clue what type of barrier they are but these barriers had 2 8inche wooden boards running them, I took the top board off and the ewes ate from the passageway… never Had any jump through the gaps with the single ratchet strap down the fence…

You can get Iae ( Bateman prob as well, ) that the timbers below are on a hinge, so fold up for sheep, and you leave ‘em down for cattle !

Best design i came up with was channels at either end, 2x of 3" timbers and a diagonal feed barrier made with 3" box and tubes, it all slides up and down in the channels at either end. Top timber can come out if i was to use shed for calves/yearlings, so they could reach to the floor.

Aye I’ve seen those. Just thought anything with hinges might get destroyed by Charolais bullocks

Sorry to jump on the thread I’m thinking of altering my shed to make it easier for feeding the ewes I like the idea of just feeding down the front passage but do you find that when lambing the lambs get out I’m thinking it could be a nightmare to walk in in the morning and passage full of lambs

The hinges are on the outside, so they’re not in the road of rampaging bullocks.
Or just use a double wooden roofing purlin between the uprights, and remove 1 for the sheep !
