Sheep options with excess grass

Just wanting to gauge people's thoughts. We've taken on some extra grazing (for several reasons it just makes sense) but in all honesty don't have the mouths to keep it down. We've been gradually expanding, and do still want to expand. But can't afford to buy the required amount this quickly if buying theaves. So what would folk most sensible & cost effective option? Run on ewe lambs? Tup some older/draft ewes? Try finish stores out on grass....??

Any thoughts appreciated. Diolch

In my opinion I would go in this order:

1. Easiest / cheapest = grow your lambs to bigger weights and sell as soon as the grass runs out.

2. Run on all ewe lambs, then pick what you want to keep from them.

3. Keep your ewes out of the shed for longer by using this grazing into the winter.

4.Bale it for next year?

5. Buy older ewes to tup ( buying in sheep means your possible buying in more problems in the long term, so have to be very careful )
