Looking at making a race once lambing is over. Just wondering what is the normal width and height companies like ritchie and rappa etc make theirs?
Also if any pics can be shared of yours for a bit of inspiration!!

Cheers

Ours is a cheep Bateman race , 16’ long about 18” wide with a guillotine gate at one end and shedding gate at the other, it was bought as it’s reasonably portable.
On some away ground we stoned up an area about 40’ x 20’ railed and gated the outside , one long side is galvanised sheets , then a 16’ x36” working race within .
The home made race is far better for jobs such as drenching, jagging etc as we can fill it up and work away through them.
Plenty of gates makes things flexible

Shedding race circa 18” wide. Dosing race 36”. If only need for 1 of those I’d go for 36” myself but all depends on numbers and how many will be working the staff

Anyone know who manufactures the pens for livestock marts?

I think why you're not getting too many replies is that most farmers and shepherds buy a mobile race like rapper or practley and not make there own so there's not that many variations but I am also wanting to make my own hopefully on a clh trailer I don't think it will be any cheaper in the long run but more useful

Just weld hooks on the side of your livestock box and hang hurdles on. Then ratchet them down.
