Shipping container as a shed

I’m playing with the idea of getting a shipping container to store some stuff, parts, a little tractor, general stuff.

What are they like? Has anyone on here got any and care to let me know if they are any good?

They're fantastic, but as above condensation can be a big problem. Closing the doors and running a dehumidifier occasionally helps a lot.

And a right bunch of puffs with it.
I asked 3 companies to back off the road onto a stone pad in a field, 2 declined saying 20ft wide gate was to small and 1 put the phone down on me. Got a straw merchant in the end and the job went like clockwork.

Why would you use something difficult to apply (especially to the inside of the roof), when you can buy celotex boards?

The problems come from the large range of temperatures between bright sun and nighttime. Have you ever felt the inside of metal cladding when the sun is shining on the other side?
The warm air has a high relative humidity that the cooling effect of night on the container causes everything inside to get coated in condensation.
If you don't insulate the walls, you still get this effect on things you store inside, because they warm up and cool down with the air in the container.
It is the regular, daily warming and cooling that causes metal that lives inside the tainer to rust.

Yep, you are probably spot on.

Grafotherm it. I've done 5 here and not bad a single drop of condensation.
Very easy to apply.

you can get some that dont sweat, also high roof/taller ones, my mate bought 2, placed em 20ft apart and made a roof to in fill, great middle shed! but price has gone up for good ones!

I moved one with a old 30 foot trailer.. lifted front of container up with a telehandler and chains then backed trailer under then lifted /pushed it in from behind with the handler

I remember calling in a builders yard, and he said buy a 40' container, as a 20' one is easy to steal, lift onto a lorry with a hiab.

I try not to go in or out in the rain, and if it does get a bit of condensation, try to open the doors on a sunny day to dry the damp out from in there.
