Some firms/people don't help themselves though!!

Just had a bill from a parts supplier from 11/8, it came yesterday!! Then they are still in the dark ages regards to payment, cheque/cash. The cheque has been known not to be presented for a couple of months as well:mad::mad:

So what happens if your SFP is delayed for nine months or so .i could think of nothing worse than being in a possition of not be able to pay your bills but it can happan to anyone, it needs understanding in both sides .
I cant speak for everyone but it would make things extremely tight with me. You would hope that by contacting suppliers and explaining the situation they would understand but this sould have a knock on effect. Personally id have to sell some of my cattle store to tide me over. Thats why im trying at the moment to slowly build my numbers up so iv got a cattle to sell in an emergency. I think most people try to pay on time just financial constraints sometimes mean they cant. Some just wont.

It happened to a lot of us this last year with the BPS delays, ours was 6months late finally getting paid in June. We had already structured our cash flow to minimise any risk which turned out to be a good move. Apart from that you don't buy what you can't afford. Simples

We did have a shed company go bust on us, start up under a new name and go bust again! They wanted us to pay for stuff up front in the end, they never did finish the work and we still owe the final payment and still need to finish the shed!

Don't get yourself backed into a financial corner, take the week off the current job and drive round with the lads to all the sites collecting money for the jobs you've done. There is no excuse for not paying their bills by now, it should be them declaring bankruptcy, not you, but the farmer won't need to as he can live off his assets, he should extend his overdraft and pay his bills.

Edit: i've just seen on companies house that the same bloke has started up again!
I thought that un-discharged bankrupts were barred from being directors :scratchhead:

Òne of the worst payers I know with all the excuses as to why he can't pay is loaded.
He just thinks it's all a game to try and get away with as much as possible.

Think he's still on here

Not any fudgein more :ROFLMAO:

Both of the culprits are still on here, hasn't been on since April and other since September. I even paid Thomas' steel direct TWICE for the final flashings (a few hundred £ worth) to get them to come out and finish off since their Thomas account was on stop. They simply didn't bother, the young lad accused me on here of still owing them money I seem to remember. They treated me and several others on here with complete contempt!

Remembering it all has annoyed me so much i'm tempted to tag them just to have another argument.

I worded that wrongly. he doesn't ask for it 'up front'. He asks for payment for the steel (shed kit) upon delivery to farm but before erection. Nothing wrong with that IMO.

Exactly, I don't know of shed builder, who doesn't ask for stage payments.............no wonder RWG is busy

@RWG Contracts hows your contractor relation going on getting money in?

15000 + acres of silage there must be some bad payers.

I've always been cautious regarding cash flow,I just put jobs on hold and pay whoever needs paying then kick off again when I can afford,I'm currently on with putting in 120 cubicles and a 120'x100' shed,it's all on hold because I don't want to go overdrawn.
