Has anyone heard of this company, or have any experience with their slurry lagoon methane capture system? I believe they are based in Cornwall and have a trial running on a handful of farms already

Harvesting methane from slurry before it can enter the atmosphere, using the collected gas as a carbon neutral fuel source. Seems like a win/win situation and too good to be true?

Harvesting methane from slurry before it can enter the atmosphere, using the collected gas as a carbon neutral fuel source. Seems like a win/win situation and too good to be true?

I suspect that there will be a lot of these sorts of companies set up over the next few years.
All I know is that anything to do with extracting anything from slurry is hugely expensive. The failed trial at Gelli Aur to turn slurry into potable water cost over £1m in equipment ...

I don't know any more than reading the recent article in the farmers weekly, but I does look like a good idea!

The YouTube's clip did speak more about digesters than covered lagoons so I guess gas yield wouldn't be great due to the temperature of the lagoon?

Does any one know if digesatate lagoons will need to be covered? I can see a digester being attractive if not.

They are supposed to be installing it on the council farm I just left, which was 12 months ago and they still haven’t started! They are a bit disorganised to say the least. Meanwhile the new tenant has virtually no slurry storage as the old tank has rusted out!
I think the one already installed on a council farm in saltash is actually working, but this company are just so slow

Lagoons are having to be covered to prevent ammonia emission not methane so presume it applies to digest are lagoons as well.

No dairy chemicals or footbath chemicals aloud in the slurry to be able to catch the methane. That's the message a neighbour got when he looked at it
