Solar Power Expectations

Unless the shed has planning conditions regarding roof colour then I believe the answer is no. All mine have never had planning, butr they were for agricultural use on Agric buildings.
if you arte concerened i would speak planning sure they will be sympathetic.
However myt view has always been , the less they know about these things, the less chance of being rated. Which if it is not agricultural they certainly can
Oh dear , anyway these exports tariffs of 20 p look very nice ,

Thanks for your reply Farmer 059, so an average of just under 300kw per day. I take it you get a LOT less kw production through the winter months? Is the inverter the same as the G59 connection? Does 15p include your FIT payment and the payment from the grid please?
Hi, The inverter converts DC to AC and on our system acts in place of the G59. We have an import export meter, generation meters on the solar and a GAIA 11kw Turbine. We took 3 phase to the house and run a GSHP, plus the farm of the supply. In 8 years, we have only imported 45000 kw from the grid, rest own generation.
We get an index linked payment for all electric produced that is in addition to the 15p FIT payment. For FIT we use New Stream Renewables and have always sold to OPUS, not had a reason to change but do look at FIT contact annually to get best deal.
I have attached a year from our Solar log (when no inverters were off!) and this gives a good idea of output, (green lines are target) - do ignore the FIT amount - the parameters for pounds are way out!
Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for taking the time to explain this to me. We are just trying to work out if it is worth putting 100kw of solar on our shed roof as we have a 100kw grid connection from an AD plant that did not do what it said on the packet!! We are not high energy users. At 20p per kw the maths add up but if it dropped back to 10p or even 5p (who knows what the future holds!) I'm not sure.

We are probably around 14p per kw for everything we produce, and the FIT in addition makes it a sound investment. Don’t know what the current price is for new contracts on production. FIT likely to stay up next 2-3 years I think but long term it’s a crystal ball.
With gas being phased out for domestic use over time electricity ought to pay but supply of equipment is a concern at present cost wise. One thing is certain, DNO grid capacity will be reduced so it will be a case of use it or loose it.
