Does anyone feed them through the parlour?

How much could I get away with feeding if I could find a bit of protein elsewhere?

Are they a safe feed that I could almost ad-lib like pke?

They appear relatively good value at £150/t

We feed them in shed, mixed with maize gluten, it's fairly safe to fed, but don't think you could just tip it into a trough like PKE and let them regulate the in takes.

You can with sheep so I guess you can with cattle,that's how we start the hoggets on hoppers

A 50/50 blend of soya hulls and maize gluten would be 16.5% protein and 12.5 me.

It looks good on paper.

Crediton milling would do that for you? Could add molasses for dust if it would flow alright.

Have a look at alkafibre from HJ Lea Oakes. It’s oat hulls mixed with home n dry. Lots of info about it on the Fivef website, or give them a call. Would possibly fit what you are after.

Mobile mill and mix once a fortnight ? Buy straights

They are gut fill but I would take any representative analysis with a shovelfull of salt.

We have feed soya hulls and wheat feed for at least a decade. We use for farmers. And when required we add a third ingredient for extra protein.

Rolled barley and soya hulls do a different job. One is an energy source, the other a fibre source. Wheatfeed has a bump more protein in it which may be useful.

Three way blend of soyahulls, barley and gluten would be energy, fibre and protein all in one. Steadish on the gut too.

Just as well because the dust from rolled wheat or barley in a parlour is insane.
