Spraying off peas and beans pre wheat drilling

Will glyphosate on its own kill volunteer peas ok? I know beans seem to take some killing due to waxy leaves. What do other on here add to get a better kill for beans?

Peas are getting quite big as ground has been worked for sometime. Next thing in will be the drill after the sprayer. Don't want the peas to get any bigger else they will bung up in front of the tine drill. Yes often end up taking winter beans out with a spring herbicide.

Never had an issue just using 3 L per hectare Glyphosate seems to work just fine

if it doesn’t it’s not hard to take them out of the wheat

Volunteer beans are a good companion to your wheat , better leaving them alone till the spring aslong as it's not a ridiculous amount.

Trouble is they can get big and start shading out grass weeds below. Same as charlock. Grows like a plague all winter and hides blackgrass and the like under it. Then you come along in the spring, hit it with your expensive broadway star and wonder why there is brome everywhere. Not only that but allowing BLWs to get bigger and then relying on SU chemistry again and again and again is how you get resistance.

If someone is running through the crop in the autumn post-em anyway, a dash of cyclops or similar is a very modest spend.

11.94 an acre isn't that expensive for what it brings to the party one year in 3 in terms of palio/ broadway star. the benefits those volunteer beans bring to that crop from a visual and under soil perspective makes any negative minimal in my opinion .. also spraying dff constantly in a direct drilling situation has more negatives to it so id rather keep that to a minimum and use it as a pre em if I was using it which we do.
