Starlink Broadband

Anyone got it and is it reliable? I currently have radio waves and its so intermittent. Watching youtube stops and buffers or get 5 minute drop outs. I am getting really annoyed as I also put my house phone on this line and that also can cut out.

They came out last year to check and had no issues.

Im on a contract but the way its going its hopeless.

A few pals have Starlink and say its good.

Had it for about 18 months now. Took a month to settle down and work with our unifi network but its great. We are bow getting around 300mb down and 50-60mb up. Well worth the money and for us it replaced both a phone line and 5g dongle so works out the same price.

Have it here
Installed on farmhouse and then beamed up to our house
We both share the costs, works out cheaper than ordinary broadband

This is now, and considering it is absolutely pouring it down, which does slow it a bit. Still loads faster than before

We have 6 customers on it and they all love it.

One of them has 20 PCs plus a cloud based phone system and it has never faltered.

Even in this heavy rain they are still getting the below.

We have it and I use it to work from home (full time job requires high computer/internet use), so it's definitely adequate for that. I do find in the evenings I have issues downloading files, I suspect everyone else round here has to have it and are streaming films, so that could be an issue. It's no fibre though, so you won't doing well with online gaming.

Yep, I've noticed a real drop off in the evening. sub 20mbps last week, hence my fiddling....

What is REALLY exercising me is how to resolve the issue I have with utilising remote wifi devices, all fed by ethernet. Since the move, I am unable to get them to work, without hammering the Starlink speed. My gut feeling is that it is a Double NAT issue, but biggered if I can see how to work round it yet. TP-Link support were useless, and blamed the remote devices, which is bollox.

So Starlink to the Ethernet Adapter and enable Bypass on the Starlink router. That then feeds into the TP-Link Archer router which is used both for internal wifi and also ethernet ports feeding the Office to a hub and there is a hard wired PC, laptop and printer.

Ethernet LAN also feeds to all rooms in the house and my daughter when here, connects for superfast, no wifi connectivity.

Also I have tried my original external wifi extender WAP's and various other room wifi extenders, all connected with the ethernet. BUT, and this is the problem, as soon as these remote WAP's are hooked up, they work, but Starlink speeds plummet, by at least 50%, which then affects use in the house. Never used to have this in the past....

Anyone else solved a similiar problem???
