Sulky x40 econobox. Reviews?

Currently running an X36 and have been more than happy with the spreader, the control system and the backup from both sulky and the local dealer. Spread pattern very good out of the book. One linear actuator failure is the only problem we have had. Would buy another sulky.

Just to drag up an old thread,
I'm looking at an x36 really but there's an X 40 bit more money but heck of a spreader.
Currently don't have navigation etc. What will I need to get going with the spreader and then what improvement will I need to get the best from it?
Obviously the section control etc will be bees knees when I eventually get navigation etc. Possiblly even yield/nutrition maps!

Hi, if X40 is Econov it will come in three variants
1) isolink so no control screen
2) teejet screen and rds acreen, 6 sections gps
3) quartz 800, 12 section how contorl.
let me know what it has and I can tell you what you can and can’t do.
Halse Southwest have a few factory reconditioned machinea with the option 1 as above .

This is the boxes, hope that helps thank you.

It is a bit more tech than we warrant but it's not much more ££ than I was going to spend anyway.

Dpx1505 to trade if anyone wants it Screenshot_20210503-192519.png

Can I use it manually at first, basically a button for each side shutoff?
Section control manually?
And then when I get the tech, will it auto on/off and section control, what GPS do I need for this?

Yes you can use it as a guidence lightbar
Technically you could use it for manual control of sprayer sections by watching the screen. You will have to set up a new implement in the screen etc..

Will this do both straight and curved lines?
My 2 other jobs I'm thinking of are:
Pre em spray particularly in a field that we drill from a wonky headland (would just have too many short runs and laps if straight)

2nd job.
Drive around headland and then power harrow the 5th run in (steering off GPS) so that I can drill my middles to this mark rather than guessing?

(If I put the headland run in as a curved ab line, , would it do that job?) Even if I had to do the field in either 2 halves or just stop 100 yard short of complete lap of field?

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
