David Cameron, on becoming PM said he would abolish NE, along with other promises which he never achieved. Of course you don't abolish civil servants, they just morph into other departments.
Did Cameron make good on any of his promises? has any incoming PM ever stuck to what they promised, certainly not Bojo, what happened to the bonfire of the red tape and the £375m for the NHS?

Sssi not keen on anyone shooting anything. Rabbits, squirrels, foxes, deer included. Super nature reserve likely to seek to curtail all shooting except under special licence.(which we don’t actually ever give out) But nobody can say we actively prevent shooting!
I have passed these thoughts to my shooting chum, and I have a suspicion, there might well be a few less than enthusiastic shooting folk at the Open meeting in Feb. I will be spreading the word.

I know there are several well regarded Shoots in the area as well.

Would be interesting to see the tons overall produced in the country. Might paint a different picture. In the war they ploughed up every bit of land they could possibly plough up. The polar opposite of what they are doing now.

To be fair, the War Ag did insist on ploughing up an awful lot of land that wasn't very productive, and which was previously grass for a reason.

Just read the BBC bulletin and noted it is being done supposedly in honour of King Charles. Initial reaction is is it predominantly private landowners or not? Because can' t help feeling that Charles could do Sandringham Estate, any Duke of Lancashire land or son's Duchy of Cornwall land or even The Crown Estates portfolio but whilst they appear to care for the environment it appears to be not on their land all the time.

I'm thinking along similar lines. 5 "major" (to use NE's word) new NNR's a year for 5 years means an awful lot of people being shoved off their land and/or their businesses ruined due to a total of 25 new NNR's being declared. As far as i'm concerned if King Potato Head wants it done in his name it can all be done on his patch.

Disgraceful behaviour by NE, not learned anything in the South West then.

I've been talking to a lad on Facebook this afternoon. His family farm a fair bit of land on the south side of the Stiperstones.
They knew nothing about it.
I know several other farmers in the immediate area who are bound to be affected by it, all hard working family farms 🫤

Needs some publicity amongst the REAL rural community who live and work there.
