But if its locked at over 15kph as recommended unless you have perfectly straight roads you can't have it unlocked for all cornersBeing locked on corners that cause tyre scrub.

Never heard 15kph rule before. Any corners you can take over about 25k will have minimal tyre wear. Any thing else should be unlocked imo.But if its locked at over 15kph as recommended unless you have perfectly straight roads you can't have it unlocked for all corners
So what was the eventual outcome, tandem or single axle and best / value of tankerAfternoon all
I’ve searched on here but couldn’t find a thread.
Considering upgrading our tanker to increase output. Choices are Hi spec/abbey/Redrock 3000 gal single or tandem axle. Maybe a tandem axle 3500 as it’s not much more in price. What I’m not sure of is the manoeuvrability of a tandem compared to single axle tankers especially swinging into gateways. Wondering if anyone could shed some info or experience?
thanks
Could you elaborate more on not choosing a hispec again?Definitely would recommend a tandem axle, smooth on the road and you’ll never fail to get in a gateway with rear steer, getting out is a different story however! In the process of pricing up a new one, priced up a Redrock and an Abbey, going to go for the Redrock as I have heard a lot of positive reviews and there isn’t much between them on price. Currently running a hispec 3500 wont be having another one.
Snapped axle, drawbar cracked where the springs for the suspension sit and where the trailing shoe linkage is attached to the tanker cracked. Hi Spec were less than helpful when it came to sourcing a new axle as well and we were told by the axle manufacturer, (who was very helpful) that the axles it was running on should never have been under there in the first place.Could you elaborate more on not choosing a hispec again?
Sounds like a bad one! Haven’t heard of many dodgy hispec tankers and there’s a lot in this area.Snapped axle, drawbar cracked where the springs for the suspension sit and where the trailing shoe linkage is attached to the tanker cracked. Id go for new rock over redrock. Ther made by the original redrock owner and he never was known for takin shortcutsDefinitely would recommend a tandem axle, smooth on the road and you’ll never fail to get in a gateway with rear steer, getting out is a different story however! The Redrock will hold more than the Abbey.Sounds like a bad one! Haven’t heard of many dodgy hispec tankers and there’s a lot in this area.
currently pricing same tankers as you and the abbey and Redrock seem more compact compared to a hispec equivalent.
Some stickers hold a wild stuff though! The Redrock will hold more than the Abbey.

What’s the view on Primex tankers?
Did see his video, just wondering would they stick contracting?tom Pemberton seems to rate them
afaik hispec use branning axlesdo you mind me asking what axle was underneath the hi spec. Was it a Chinese hos? ( not knocking these makes because they are backed by distag and are fitted to a good few different tank manufacturers)
I know for the single axle 2.5k gal tanks they are rated to 16 ton these would be 420 x 180 or 420 by 200.
