This is what happens when you overdo the wildebeest.

My lad makes me smile. 16 and keen as mustard. I had 100t to go on a 48 acre field today. Wind was forecast strong after mid morning so he’s up with me at 5.30 and we get two spreaders rolling to beat Mother Nature. He loads and bombs across the field with alternate spreaders while I spread. We got the 100t done in 1 hour 35 minutes.

T’was a bit sticky round the heap. Heavy rain in the night meant all the water off the lane went straight in the gate and round the heap. The field is going into wheat so no harm done.

Thank you.

As the years go by it gets more and more “all or nothing” with this job.

20 years ago it was maybe 40% spring and 60% autumn. Now it seems autumn is at least 80% so you’ve got to have stupid kit to go flat out for a few weeks.
You certainly wouldn't take long doing my spread that's for sure! 😂

We've had friends staying for the first time since lockdown, their little girl was in the kitchen with mine when I came in to announce that I'd a bulling heifer up in the yard and had to call the AI man.

Our guests' little girl shot round and stared at me open-mouthed, before asking in a sort-of-scared sort-of-fascinated way 'There's a heffalump in your yard?' :ROFLMAO:

I'm minded those Charlie Brown cartoons in which adults all sound like 'Wah wah wah wha', except for interesting words, are probably based on fact. Does this little beauty really look like a heiferlump?

Piglet would think so. Clearly a heffable horralump.
