31 minutes and 22 seconds.......... missed the PB by 7 seconds. :(

Beat the bloke in the last picture by at least 10 minutes!! :)

Its a timed run, not a race.....
I've gone backwards a lot since June, and had a couple of runs around the 34 minutes.
Hopefully I'll spend less time sat in tractors eating soon, and I can get back to getting fitter, and lighter!

Perhaps it would be more accurate to asses body mass/density for required weight. A person with plenty of well toned muscle could show to being over weight.

It's the excess "fat" that's our major problem, and poorly exercised cardiovascular systems.

I'm good at talking the talk; "now" can I walk the walk, as instructed by Doc Cooper?

just found this thread and it's a revelation hearing everyone has gone through the same issues I had....and I thought it was just me!!

keep at it.

Another pearl of wisdom know your limits.
Played my first full game of rugby yesterday for 25 years (Now 54) I am in good shape (or was)
Knee like a balloon this morning and A&E last night to glue my finger every part aches. I would formally like to announce my permanent retirement from the game,it all looked so easy shouting advice to my 19 year old son.
So keep up with your exercising regime but folks be realistic as well.
Do not feel quite so much the Clever Dic this morning.
Just the Dic.

Are most of you posting here that work on farms farm workers or owners? Reason I ask is I used to go to the gym regularly and need to start back at it as fitness has dropped off rapidly lately and weight has piled on. When I was there regularly I would get up the next day with legs like lead and not feeling particularly mobile, which I could work around at the time but with a change of job it would be impacting on the work I would have to do the next day and not sure it's right for me to be up like that regularly. Not bad if I know I'm going to be on a tractor all day but plans can change from one minute to another so never know what I'll be doing

25+ years ago working on a farm was far more active, even arable. I'd lose huge amounts of weight over harvest, and be fit as a flea at the end of it.
These days, the summer is when I pile the weight on, no animals to look after and weeks of just sat in machines. I have this evening done my first non-Parkrun run, and a short visit to the gym, since June, when I was 2 stone lighter and ten minutes quicker over 5km!
Should have some cattle in over the next few days too, which will make a difference.

I bagged up a ton of wheat in 1/2cwt bags yesterday for a shoot, and was thinking how all seed and fert used to be in 1cwt bags.
I was sweating and blowing after that ton, but used to be able to handball off and stack up 15 ton without thinking about it in the old days.

I done 30 something years in the meat trade, all aspects from wholesale, retail & slaughter. Used to think nothing of lumping quarters of beef off lorries etc.

Now flying a desk in the NHS........ "transferable skills". :)

Sadly sitting on a chair all day getting little exercise isn`t good........ can`t be doing with gyms & folk laughing at the old fat bloke....so took to the running. :D
