Why has someone worded this frame under the grab. Presumably to support the load vertically. And the round bit at the end is there for a reason

Did they place wrapped bales at the stack normally ( not on their ends) and after releasing the grab boom out and use the frame to push the bale tight into the stack.

Would it be to transport the bales a distance so it wouldn’t be moving around or loosening in the soft hands

Yes, my guess is someone's been running them straight back to the heap.
Not a bad plan with soft-ride loader and heap in field.

Not a bad plan with soft-ride loader and heap in field.

Is it in the right place to put 2 wrapped bales together in the field and be able to run them back to the yard?

There’s some right plastic snagging bits on the bar that hat the frame is welded to

Not much paint worn of it, so presume it wasn't a successful prototype!?

Tip headstock right down, drive into bale until it hits frame, pick up bale, drive to stack, tip down 45 degrees ish & release so bale should tip forward into stack, nudge up if required with frame. Very little pressure & ripping force on wrap

Its for loading any type of round bales on a trailer to ensure they are tight together wrapped or unwrapped ....................probably the ideal machine for @Hfd Cattle
can carry it on the loader with less chance of being stopped by plod for having spikes & makes it easy to hitch on.

Should have got the same guy who made the pusher part to repair center of the wing

Carry it round field and weight of bale would sit on frame. Not relying on grip to hold onto it.
